At Happy Little Card Store, our family has always believed in finding light — even on the hardest days. Painting has been a part of our healing, our hope, and our way of staying connected through every season of life.

Our daughter, Mary Jane Milici, lives with MELAS disease, a rare mitochondrial disorder that often brings difficult days. But even when she’s feeling tired or sick, painting, creating art, playing a board game, or doing crafts can brings peace. It’s a quiet reminder that beauty still exists — even when life feels heavy.

For our family, art is more than color on a canvas; it’s a way to see the world a little brighter. Every brushstroke feels like a small act of hope, and every finished piece — a celebration of the strength it takes to keep going.
